I know what it's like to be told there is nothing wrong with you...

I am writing my first post with the firm idea we can be better, we can do better to help people especially those who have been told there is nothing wrong with you, and it's all in your head. This is all to familiar phrase hurled from on high from various health care professionals who feel if they can't diagnose it, then it simply must not be real.

I have experience being the patient numerous times in my life and staring down the barrel of "What do I do now?". You're telling me that my experience, what I go through on a day to day basis isn't valid because your testing isn't designed to find out what is the matter with me. We are quick to dismiss people who have suffered with issues that we feel we must put a label, that isn't always the case. The human body is intricate and have many different processes that can become out of balance long before actual "pathology" shows up ie Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, Neuro-cognitive Decline or Diabetes to name a few .

This is where I want to differentiate myself or draw the line in the sand and say no more! My goal is to uniquely work with each other as if they were a family member and look towards the root cause in your physiology that might be causing, sleep problems, weight gain, skin rashes, GI problems or mood disorders. All of these problems are actually disturbances in the normal process of your physiology, no different than if your car's alignment goes off causing a symptom premature tire wear. Your physiology is either working for or against you and the key is to restore this balance, back to a word from 7th grade science, Homeostasis.

This is the type of practice I am talking about one that follows functional testing guidelines to determine your true health potential and find out truly how your body is working on system level. Looking at the markers that truly influence our day to day functioning like digestion, hormonal balance, neurotransmitters (which can affect mood, sleep and brain function), metabolism, energy production, and sleep away cycle (known as your circadian rhythm).

This is the place I have created albeit virtual where I have decided to focus on a new type of practice, one that puts patient first in everything we do. It feels like there is physical building being put up, that's because of all the love and care that went into the planning stages. The online virtual telemedicine format will allow the patient to be firmly in control from things like scheduling of the consultations, to an online portal where you'll receive all your results. The practice I am designing, is where I want YOU to feel understood and heard regarding your questions and/or concerns. And if I don't know the answer, that's ok I will do my best to seek the answers with a complicated health concern.

I have been in the place of being told there is nothing wrong with you, we have done all the testing we can do and nothing is showing. Without going into a long complicated analysis of traditional allopathic medicine, the annual testing that is done on people like a blood test hasn't changed much in half a century. There are more sophisticated tests available on the market, and these tests are the foundation of a new kind of practice. One where you don't have to wait your turn in a wait room full of people, one where you get a copy of results and where we sit down and explain in detail what is going on. One where you feel in control and are empowered to be a part of the plan in your health. Finally one that gets results, by looking deep in the processes that are functioning inside of you on a daily basis.

As I embark on revolutionizing the healthcare paradigm, I have chosen to open a practice that simply works on a core premise, which is over deliver whenever I can. I will work hard to share my knowledge and expertise and commit to higher level of patient care. That is to mean that every will be treated as if they are family member and can reach me anytime if they have question of concern. Thank you for reading my thoughts and I look forward to connecting with you on some level in the future!

Kindly and in health,

Dr. Dan
